About
Introducing the Lake Havasu Fisheries Improvement Plan Partnership
At Lake Havasu Marine Association, we're committed to preserving the beauty and ecological balance of our beloved Colorado River. That's why we're proud to partner with the local Bureau of Land Management (BLM) office and Anglers United to bring you the Lake Havasu Fisheries Improvement Plan Partnership - Brush Program.
How does it work?
Our local Lake Havasu City landscapers simply gather eligible branches from their jobs and haul them to the designated disposal site. The Lake Havasu Fisheries Improvement Plan Partnership (LHFIP) provides rope and guidance on how to bundle the materials for hassle-free removal. By bundling the materials, we can ensure efficient, functional and environmentally friendly disposal.
We hope to encourage our community (when working with landscapers) to recommend this service, to collect branches of mesquite, cottonwood, willow, palo verde, acacia, citrus, olive, and palm fronds from their properties for disposal.
What not to bring to maintain the health of our ecosystem? Please refrain from bringing salt cedar, eucalyptus, creosote, or oleander bushes. These plant species can have negative impacts on the local environment and should be handled separately.
Get Involved! Join us in our efforts to protect and enhance the natural beauty of Lake Havasu City. By participating in the LHFIP Brush Program, you're making a tangible difference in the health of our lake and surrounding areas. Together, we can ensure a vibrant and thriving ecosystem for generations to come.
Thank you for your commitment to preserving our natural resources!
